Reading List
Many authors use a lot of science in their fictional writings. The list below includes some authors who tend to use science in their books along with a general description of the types of books. If you find another good author to add to the list, let me know!
Jeffery Deaver
Many of Deaver’s books feature a quadriplegic detective, Lincoln Rhyme, who uses forensic evidence to help solve crimes.
Kathy Reichs
Many of Reichs’ books feature forensic anthropologist Temperence Brennan. The television show “Bones” is based on Reichs’ characters.
Tess Gerritsen
Tessi Gerritsen is the author of many medical style mysteries. The television show “Rizzoli and Isles" is based on two characters from her books; Maura Isles is a medical examiner, and Jane Rizzoli is a detective.
Suzanne Collins
The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins are books about a futuristic world in which people from each district must compete in the annual Hunger Games. These have been made into movies, but as usual, the books are better!
Veronica Roth
The book by Divergent by Veronica Roth has been highly recommended by many students. It is a work of science fiction.
